November Dunkirk Harbor Field Trip

Join Devin Banning and Katelyn Davis for a morning of birding the Dunkirk Harbor! This trip targets newly arrived waterfowl that use the Dunkirk Harbor and Lake Erie as their wintering grounds. It is not unusual to see over a dozen species of waterfowl in a morning here.

If we are lucky we should get a glimpse of the harbor's resident Bald Eagles and the Peregrine Falcons that call the old powerplant their home. Depending on recent bird reports from around the area, we may choose to bird Point Gratiot, the Berry Road Marsh, or Lake Erie State Park after the Harbor, but feel free to come and go as you please. Bring a spotting scope if you have one, if not we can share!
