We’ll meet up on the path by the bird watching platform (about 500’ North of the parking area). Waterproof footwear is highly recommended. Approximately a 2 mile total, easy, flat walk, out and back. Several different habitats including marsh, ponds, edge, and forest, with likely over 50 species to be seen. Dick Miga once wrote of the trail “The Sheldon Trail today represents to birders from Chautauqua county, as well as visitors, one of the top birding sites in the region. There are very few local places where one can go, park the car, and visit in one spot such a variety of habitats as wetlands, marshes, woodlands, shrub zones, open fields, deserted orchards and many other fine areas.” We can expect to see waterfowl such…
